Not everyone needs medication, however, it can be beneficial for some. If distress is high and it is difficult to function on a daily basis, this could be helpful to ease some difficulty and aid in progressing. For some presenting problems, medication can increase progress in therapy. Research has also shown that a combination of medication and therapy can have the best outcome in some cases.
Medication can be beneficial only taken in a short term length of time or on a longer time line, depending on many factors. Feel free to ask any questions needed to determine if a consultation with a doctor may be needed or advantageous. I have contacts for psychiatry and family practice doctors if desired.
